Wayne,

I can see a potential problem - -  Consider that auto-CW will be used
mostly by VHF operators, many of whom have sequencers that require
longer time than the 20 ms available using the CONFIG: TX DLY menu
before the onset of RF to make all the switchover.  If TX INH is being
used, then the onset of RF must be delayed until TX INH is no longer
active.  Also for this auto-CW situation to work properly, there must be 
a good way to begin the sequencer cycle - KeyOut (or at
least KEYOUT-LP) may be the proper output, but the relative timing 
should be confirmed (TX INH should not prevent KEYOUT from going active).

In this scenerio, the use of TX INH in this way might result in a
clipped first code element, but I believe that would be more tolerable 
than a damaged preamp.

Those VHF operators whose sequencers can complete in less than 20 ms. 
will not have the problem that I have mentioned, so they can operate 
auto-CW with just the portion of the changes you have proposed.
