Hi, Garry.

The microphone connector pinout is shown on page 13 of the K3 Owner's
manual. The index topic is "Front Panel Connectors". Here is the
description from the owner's manual:

1 Mic audio, low-Z (~600 ohms)
2 PTT
3 DOWN button*
4 UP button*
5 FUNCTION button*
6 8V (10 mA max)
7, 8 Ground

I don't own the microphone you mention, but some of the pins appear to be
connected as expected, but I'm not sure about pin 6, which is "Rev Audio" on
the MC-60 microphone connection layout I found.

The MC-60 is a "dynamic" microphone, and you probably want bias off for that
sort of microphone.

As for amplifier switching, it depends on what kind of amplifier you have.
The K3's Key Out line is described on page 17 of the owner's manual. The Key
Out line is specified to switch up to 200V DC at up to 5 Amps, so maybe your
AmpKeyer isn't required if your amp's T/R relay switching line is within
these limits.

Ordered Dec 23 received June 4.

I very much enjoyed the build and really like the rig but I am having
some issues with the setup. I cannot even find a mic pinout in the
manual. Wow, that would seem to be pretty basic information to be
included. I do have an MC-60 which is supposed to be pin for pin
compatable with the K3 but I cannot get much output swing on the
meter. I know the PA is working because I have tried it in CW and
lots of output on CW but the out put is low on SSB

I know others have had issues with this but I don't seem to find any
solutions in the archhives. I wonder if someone with an MC-60 that
has successfully set the rig up could please email me and perhaps
compare notes? I would sure appreciate it. My emails should show up
at the beginning of this post. If not I can post it on here.

Also. I'm wondering what to use to key the amp. I have an Ampkeyer
for interface. Does a guy just use the switchable 12 volts for that?

Thanks in advance.
