Jim

I have 8 x serial ports available (2 from the PC motherboard, 6 from an
additional card). I am not using a contest logging program with MMTTY, I
am only a ragchrew operator on data modes. In the example below I am
using two serial ports:

There is one serial connection to the RS232 connector on the K3 (the one
that is normally used for firmware updates, etc) and another serial
connection to a single transistor interface that in turn connects to the
FSK keying input of the 15 Way "D" on the rear of the K3.

Clarification please, Dave. How many serial connections are you using
for the
radio? Do you also use a contest logger? Which one? Does it share a serial
connection with MMTTY? My experience is that if MMTTY is in use, two serial
connections are required, even when the contest logger integrates it
well. Are
you doing it with one?
