Hi Mike,

Yes it can be done using a multi-pole coaxial relay. I've done it that way for years. There are a few problems going that route. The main reason I don't like using the multi-pole relay is that each transverter requires a little bit different drive level. In some cases there's a lot of difference in drive level. So an attenuator needs to be inserted in line with the transverter TX input line (if that makes any sense). It's just not as clean as having a XV144 where you can adjust the output drive level....set and forget. Using separate XV144's solves the drive level problem. I have several of the multi-pole coaxial switches and they are all 28 volts which is not a problem if you are operating from somewhere that you can get 28 volts. In my truck or a mobile station that is a bit of a trick to do. Yes, I suppose you could install a temp battery. It just seems to me that separate XV144's for each M/W band is a better option. The XV144's output drive level can be adjusted for each transverter it's feeding. All band switching done through the K3.

If you only have one K3, wouldn't one transverter be enough if coupled with
one of the surplus 6 way relays? I believe the K3 firmware lets you use a
single transverter for many bands in this way.
