Mike, please make very sure that you're selecting the correct COM port with
the K3 utility.

Perhaps it's the cable between your K3 and the PC. 

There's a long checklist of things to check in the Troubleshooting section
of K3 Utility Help.

My K3 is stuck in MCU LD mode. I have tried everything in reference to the
com port settings. The K3 utility continues to say K3 not communicating. I
have the latest version of the utility and have attempted to re-load 2.10
firmware as well as 2.13 with no luck. I have also tried forcing a firmware
load  per the manual and directions in the firmware help files. Still no
luck. Any ideas????? I really don't want to be with a "dead" rig all
weekend.
