[Elecraft] KBT2 problem

I've just installed the KBT2 option in K2 Nr. 5336. Everything checked out OK
and I charged the battery for 1 6 hours from a bench power supply. The power
supply showed some 200 mA  or so being drawn initially but after overnight
charging this had fallen to a few tens of mA. When I switched the rig on the
battery only measured 11.5V on the K2's voltmeter. The rig worked on receive
but I just got a slight hum, no indication of any output and a low battery
warning when I put the rig into TUNE. I would be grateful for any
