[Elecraft] K3: ESP for inventory?

Do you need ESP for doing just the inventory process of the K3 kit? I work
as a fire fighter and have a couple of double shifts (48 hours) coming up
and wondered if I might be able to perform the inventory on my down time and
do the actual build at home with ESP.
