[Elecraft] PSK with paddle keys

Hi
I have only had a quick play with the digi modes on the K3 but just can not get anyone to read my psk signal when i use the paddels to send it via CW, it is transmitting ok but only random chars seem to be received at the other end of a good strong link, anyone any ideas what im doing wrong?
