[Elecraft] K2 Knob tip

Like many of you I suspect I have been plagued with the black paint rubbing
off the front of my K2 knob over time. I have repeatedly tried touching it
up with black car touch-up paint but before long it looks a mess again. I
have been considering attaching a new front plastic disc on it to sort the
problem, but with my mechanical skills it would unlikely look very pretty.

Today I was eyeing a pile of electrolytic capacitors in the junk box. I
picked up a 470uF 400V cap and noticed it had a nice black plastic disc on
its top, covering up the aluminium below. Even better it was 34mm diameter,
about the same as the K2 knob. A quick cut and pare with the wire cutters
and it was removed and stuck on the front of my knob. Superb..... Maybe
won't last, but I have quite a few more of those caps! And this mod doesn't
even make the caps unusable, they work just the same without their plastic
top!
