I know things get a bit fraught at times, especially from this side of 
the pond. However, I must thank Wayne and Lyle for their outstanding 
success at fixing the Amtor receive recovery situation of Sunday by way 
of a firmware update to test the very next day. Not only does the 
provisional firmware update fix the rough receive audio during the first 
50 mS of receive as seen in MCU firmware 1.58 (which fouls up Amtor and 
Pactor receive) but it also gives incredibly accurate S-meter readings too.

I've conducted some Amtor mode A (ARQ) tests over a 25 mile path with 
entirely satisfactory results. So things are looking up!
