[Elecraft] K3 - Why buy a kit?

I ordered a K3 (assembled unit) last week, and signed onto 
the reflector.

Since then, I've noticed that the vast majority of units 
being delivered are in kit form. Why is that? To save a 
couple hundred bucks? Because people enjoy building their 
radios? Or is there some delivery time advantage for those 
folks who order kits?
