After reading several responses to Charles' earlier post, and the above from
Charles himself, I realized that I was reading my "own" interpretation into
his comments.

My difficulty with the K3 front panel MIC connector had nothing to do with
pin-out - that has been well documented. Mine was a mechanical problem. I
can not "seat" the plug deeply enough to engage the screw-on collar.
