Ron was an e-mail "friend" - I guess a modern equivalent of many Hams in the
past who I only knew by the CW QSO's we shared on the air. 

He leaves an empty space in my world, and so I'm sure a much, much larger
emptiness in the worlds of those closer to him. 

For all of you who knew him, I want you to know his reach was far across the
equator into Oregon.

Hi all,

It is with a very heavy heart that I must inform the list that Ron ZL1TW
passed away this morning ZL time after a short illness.

He was my mentor, the ZL  Elecraft "guru", great family friend and all
round great guy.

I shall miss him deeply as will all his family and ham friends here and
overseas.

Will keep you posted re funeral arrangements etc.
