[Elecraft] K2 - hang up problem

Tony,

I have never seen a problem like that before, but I would suggest
starting with the 8R and 8T voltage rails on the control board. If they
are not switching properly between transmit and receive it could
conceivably create a problem like you describe.

OTOH, hearing your SSB signal in the headphones is not normal for the
K2, and only normally happens when the menu SSBA parameter is set to
BAL. If the menu is being changed inadvertently during a transmit to
receive transition, suspect RF is somehow getting into the K2
(RF-IN-THE-SHACK problem??). Alternately, control board U6 may not be
properly seated in its socket - try re-seating it.

Keep us posted on what you find.
