I quite agree, Brett. My comments weren't directed at you. You make an
excellent point when you say "There is nothing that prohibits..."

Our rules are restrictions. Within those restrictions we can do whatever we
want. There's no one to tell us "that's okay" on a point-by-point basis.

That's why knowing and following the rules is so important.

There is nothing that prohibits transmission of a tone to help someone else
tune up.  

I said it before from what I remembered of Part 97 and now after reading it
its still true.
