Hi Everyone,

Ordered on May 15, 2007
Arrived August 8, 2008
Assembled and installed in three hours on August 12, 2008

The KRX3 went together without a hitch. The instruction manual is
thorough and easy to follow per usual. The build quality is remarkable.
Perhaps the trickiest part is routing the various connecting cables
correctly in the K3. Really not a big deal though. Working in and
assembling the K3 is a lot of fun. I installed the 500Hz CW filter and
the 2.8 KHz SSB filter. I am add more later on. Time will tell.

I have never experienced using a true second receiver in a transceiver.
The closest has been dual watch in several ICOM's. To say the least, I
am blown away by this experience so far. IMO the KRX3 puts the K3
leagues ahead of the competition. My first experience using it was on a
20m CW pileup being run by YI9AJ in Iraq. Using the VFO B to track the
pileup was as snap....very intuitive. I was hearing both sides of all
of the Q's, even those that were from the very weak European's here in
W1-land. Eliminating the use of the REV button for spot hunting in
split has to be experienced live to be appreciated fully. You do have to
get used to pushing the B-Set button to adjust the sub receiver
variables. But that becomes familiar in short order.

My operating style may not see the KRX3 used here in some of the more
advanced ways as others will use, it but even so...if you can afford the
sub-receiver and are on the fence about buying it...IMO you will not be
disappointed with its purchase. It completes this transceiver.

The wait has been frustrating at times but in the end well worth it.

Amazing.

Congrats to Elecraft on a job very well done.
