[Elecraft] K3 ( or K2 ) with a Kenwood SM230 station monitor

Hi Guys:

UNfortunately, I have the SM220, which is a bit different from SM-230.

I use my SM-220 ONLY for monitoring the RF output from my station. Period.

However, if I recall, both the SM-220 and SM-230 have some provisions
for displaying the IF output from a receive IF that IF output has been
properly converted to the input of the IF input section of the monitor.

I cannot say whether either of these monitors would be worthwhile for the
displaying of a usable IF output from the K3. You'll have to get that info
from someone much more knowledgeable than I. However, I cannot recommend
these monitors highly enough for helping to keep track of your transmitted
signal.

I've had an output RF monitor for the past 40 years and cannot imagine
operating my station without having one available. They have found 'problems'
I'd probably never have noticed had I not had one available.
