Rodger,
If you have already indicated to the firmware that the FM filter is in
the FL1 position (I assume that is what you meant by "assigned toFM"),
it might be a source of your problem. Go to the CONFIG menu and verify
that FL1 ON is set to 'no'.
When you indicated to the firmware that there is a filter wider than the
2.7 available, it will switch to that filter if you widen the DSP filter
beyond 2.7kHz.

I have set up xtal filters as follows FL1 - open but assigned to FM (FM filter back ordered) FL2 2.7 kHz, FL3 1.8 kHz, FL4&5 empty. I have set up the filter receive assignments per mode and the TX filter assignments as per the manual. Here is what I am experiencing. Any time I go into the config menu for any changes(and maybe the main menu as well - can't recall) when I come out of the menu the filter auto selection during DSP bandwidth changes acts odd (In SSB mode for sure, I haven't noticed other modes). i.e. selecting a DSP bandwidth wider than 2.7 kHz now selects the FL1 position which is empty! Receiver goes dead! If I simply press the band up or down button and try this again the rig now performs correctly and ignores FL1 that is not assigned to SSB or CW etc. All remains well until
