I used to use MixW when I used Windows, but balked at the request for a
"step-by-step" setup. As far as I can see, setting up MixW with the K3
should be no harder than with any other radio. You just need the serial
cable for CAT, which you already have for firmware uploads, and a pair of
audio cables between line in and headphone out and the corresponding sockets
on the back of the K3. Despite the suggestion in another thread that a 10:1
attenuator is needed for the TX audio drive from the PC, I haven't needed
one.

The K3 should be placed in DATA A mode. In other words, AFSK will be used.
MixW does not support the K3 (unless this has been added in the latest
version) so you would have to select K2 (NB this appears under Kenwood!.)
There may be an issue with the frequency display, as I seem to recall the K2
is not consistent with the Kenwood radios (which MixW's Elecraft support is
based on) in the sidebands it uses in data mode, and I don't know if the K3
is consistent with the K2 either, but if you notice a problem try telling
the software the K3 is a TS-2000.
