A new K3 Utility version 1.1.4.1 has been made available on the Elecraft web
site http://www.elecraft.com/K3/k3_software.htm for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

This new version has three major features:

A new “Front Panel Flash” (FPF) firmware loader.  The next MCU firmware
version 1.79 moves some large tables to a flash memory device on the front
panel, giving Wayne room for new MCU features.  This new K3 Utility version
is REQUIRED to load MCU version 1.79 (and later MCU versions).

A new Crystal Filter Configuration dialog, which is accessed from the
Configuration tab page.  (This feature is currently available only on the
Windows version of the K3 Utility).

A simple “terminal emulator” which may be helpful for simple CW, RTTY, and
PSK communications.  It uses the K3’s internal text decoding functions.
(This feature is currently available only on the Windows version of the K3
Utility).

K3 Utility Help describes these features in more detail.

The Firmware page has a new FPF row for the Front Panel Flash firmware
file.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The FPF “Available Version” will be “Missing” until MCU 1.79
and the corresponding FPF firmware file are published. This is to be
expected.

K3 Utility Version 1.1.4.1 can load  earlier firmware versions.  However MCU
1.79 and later require the FPF load support that is in K3 Utility Version
1.1.4.1.
