This has been an interesting discussion on SSB filters and DSP. I think the consensus is that you need to have a tighter roofing filter for SSB other than the 2.7 or 2.8 filter for serious contesting.
Sidenote: I think there seems to be more people on SSB contesting now that before and some do not know how to set up the rigs where they are clean. Then again, it just might be a crowded band.
But then on the other hand, another person said that this needs to be addressed in the DSP software because there could be some 100 db of rejection using the software. I hope I read the right. And what are the skirts of the DSP filter? Maybe that is on the web site! Duh!
If that is the case, what is being done or what could be done to improve the skirts of the DSP filter to provide "brickwall" filtering (Even if that can be done?)?
What is being planned? Do the great guys at "E" programming something different? Or, are we to get the hardware filter to augment the DSP software?
My PROII had very robust DSP filters and I am wondering what is the difference is design philosophy is....or....is this the nature of the K3? I am no poo-pooing the K3, just wondering what the design parameters are concerning the DSP filtering programming.
Or am I barking up a tree?

In our day and age it seems that Common Sense is in short supply. If you don't have any Common Sense - get some Common Sense and use it. If you can't find any Common Sense, ask for help from somebody who has some Common Sense. Is Common Sense divine?
