   It seems a constant reminder is again in order:  

   The good guys could have waited until next week AFTER half of us
   spent our annual ham budget on an Orion or FT-2000,etc and put up
   an ad "Flash>>>New K3 from Elecraft has arrived. Order yours now
   for immediate delivery, just $2299 + tax and shipping, all manuals
   included with delivery"

   Any prediction on the list traffic following that?

Much complaining, of course.
Yes, for some people, this is the best of both worlds-  if you didn't
get a new rig just before Visalia (1), you knew what to spend your
budget on after; and if you did buy one, you've got a new rig to use in the
mean time.

(1) I came really close to buying one of the IC756 PRO III's that we
    used on N8S, but since ICOM didn't give us a good deal, so I got to
    Visalia ready for a new rig, but uncommitted.  By Friday evening,
    I was committed.

OTOH, the wait has me in limbo- I'm not working on the station much or
even operating much, at least partly because I'm waiting for the K3.
This is irrational, because I've got much work I could be doing
anyway, like work on a linear for both home and away; replacing my
antenna array at home; and several DXpedition antenna projects (even
with no trip scheduled).
