[Elecraft] Best way of running 100W?

Sure. Stephen!

The K2 was designed for just what you want to do. You can have both the
K2/100 and the low-power K2 with internal ATU and Battery.

The K2 was designed to switch between the two configurations in one or two
minutes, at the most. Your battery and ATU are mounted in the top cover of
your K2. The 100 watt amplifier simply replaces that cover. To have your
K2/100, you mount the 100 watt top cover, plug in the interconnecting cables
and attach the mounting screws. To have your K2 with built in battery and
ATU, you swap that top cover with the one with your battery and ATU mounted.

Very simple, very quick.

Some who want a 'no screwdriver' system have mounted the 100 watt amp in a
separate enclosure. It's not an Elecraft mod or product, but a number of
list members have worked it out. If you'd like to pursue that approach I'm
sure they will provide the guidance you need.

Hi

I'm a delighted new K2 owner with the 10W version, the internal tuner and an
internal battery on the way. I have decided to amalgamate my home and
portable rigs.

>From home, I would really like to run 100W. If I buy the 100W kit for
>the
K2 however, I can't do the other things with the K2 that I want, such as the
internal atu and the battery pack. I have looked at add-on amplifiers, but
I want to avoid clanking relays (my operation is 99% CW).

Is it possible to put the Elecraft 100W amp in a separate case (EC2) and
still retain all the nice fast diode switching? I recently saw a posting
which suggested I might be able to.

Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Thanks and 73
