Tapping the DISP button switches between displays in the VFO B area. So
you can see the VFO B frequency, or the time, date, voltage, current,
etc. Holding it is the METER function, which provides alternate displays
for metering, used for adjusting the audio gain and compression.

If you mean CMP. This is the Compression adjustment for SSB.

Or maybe you mean the CWT button, that's CW Tuning, which provides a
display that shows you how close you are to zero beat on CW and how
close you are to correct tuning on RTTY. It also enables the CW autotune
function, which brings you to zero beat when you tap SPOT (I think this
will also be functional on RTTY, but it isn't yet).

Holding allows you to adjust the various parameters that control the
aggressiveness, levels, and timings for the NB and NR functions. You
will also be able to select the analog (hardware) and digital (DSP)
noise blankers.
