[Elecraft] clarification of SSB tx bandwidth

After reading the manual, I was hoping for come clarification on
setting SSB tx bandwidth.  If you're NOT running ESSB with bandwidth
>= 3.0Khz, your ssb tx bandwidth is determined solely by the roofing
filter you designate?  So with the stock 2.7Khz roofing filter, you'll
always be transmitting with 2.7Khz bandwidth?  DSP filtering is not
being used to allow user selectable tx bandwidths less than 3.0Khz?
