Tom I did the same tests with a XG-2 and K2 #4913, a TS-850SAT and a Drake TR4.

The TR4 beat 'em all. Still, I plan on ordering a K3 this spring. It'll be very interesting
to see how the venerable TR4 (1969 production) fares against the best rig on the 
market.
