The late Greg Milnes, W7OZ, ARRL Northwestern Division
Director, DXer, good friend, and long-time club member, used
75-ohm hardline, "the big stuff" discarded by the cable
company, to go up his three 120-foot towers with no
problems at all. Isn't is nice to have a real 1500W PEP output
into that sort of setup!
For his "day job". Greg was a Judge of the Washington County
Circuit Court, and was "the man behind the curtain" as to why
hams throughout the county never got hassled about tower permits.
