Perhaps the feeling is that the actual number of orders and the type 
radio ordered and the number of orders shipped is seen competitive 
information, and thus will be masked as much as possible.

The whole procedure may be an example of OO (Order Obfuscation).  I'm 
waiting for the new Guess your Ship Date contest.
