  In 1966, Motorola Israel designed and produced a limited number
  of 11-meter "CB band" radios for the European and Middle
  Eastern markets where they could be used as small-business
  commercial radios. At the time I was on the staff of the
  Israeli Ministry of Communications and was the "government" end
  of getting them certified to the US standards which we adopted.
  AFAIK they were never marketed in the US even though they met
  FCC standards.
