I finally went for the MFJ-4225V.  It had good reviews AND coincidently a new unit was up for bid on E-bay.  I won it (at just about half price) and I love it.  It is a little noisier than my Astron and I prefer rear panel connections but as a matter of fact, the noise is less than the noise floor on 40M and with headphones there is none at all.  The very small size is a blessing and the front panel variable voltage adjustment is VERY usefull.  One of the best decisions I have made.  I have decided to keep my Astron 70M for back up.
