[Elecraft] order of KX1 build

I have recently come into possession of a "full" KX1 (S/N 1601) 
(including the paddle, 30m/80m board, and ATU). I did the inventory 
yesterday and everything checked out.

[Well, there was one issue... L9 (100uH RF choke) was a "min." rather 
than a "micro" (so it is slightly *larger* than it should be). Is this a 
size-sensitive part?]

In any case, I'm excited to get started on it tonight or this weekend, 
but was wondering if those of you who have built the KX1 before could 
offer some advice.

I know that there are some parts to remove on the KX1 board when I add 
the 30m/80m board (and perhaps the ATU?) so do you suggest that I build 
the 30m/80m board first and mark the steps on the KX1 build where I 
should not stuff parts to avoid removing parts later?

OR

Should I build the full KX1, make sure all is working, and then remove 
parts according to the 30m/80m kit build?

I'm leaning towards the former (build the 30m/80m board and then the 
KX1) as I am not excited about doing re-work. Suggestions or experience 
would be great to hear from you KX1 owners/builders.
