My K2 has just got to the 7 MHz receive stage so can't really comment yet but I have used both the Watson Power Mite and the Watson W25 SM extensively in wanderings portable round Africa and both performed well. I checked them both for spurious noise and drew a blank - use them at full cable stretch and with a filtered lead. They seemed OK on both IC7000 and FT857 and I checked out the Power Mite particularly carefully for noise on my main rig as I was rather suspicious of something so small!
The W25SM (and relatives) got a good review in Radcom not long ago in this respect,.
