There's recently been some discussion here about the
digital voice capabilities of the K3.

Disclaimer: I don't pretend to even have the slightest
idea what's in the minds of the K3 designers, or their
marketing direction.  

I have seen the AOR DV 'modem' ... but I've never met
G4GUO.  I'm not a TAPR member, but I've thought about
it.

However, I *have* read this paper, right to the end:

and that is how I drew my own conclusions about what's
possible, if you build a radio like the K3.
