Hello,

I started calling CQ from the AT around 15:00 UTC on 7.031 MHz. I called
for about 20 minutes before I finally had someone reply to my CQ. The bands
were not in the best of shape, there was a lot of QSB and around 17:00 UTC
the QRN started to build due to the storms to the north of my location.

I worked the following stations.

KD8G Randy in WV 40m
N3AO, Carter in VA 40m
W2KJ, Joe in NC 40m
KC0JKD, Jim in MO 20m
N0GI, Jack in MN 20m
VE3FUJ, Brian in Ont. 40m

I did call CQ of 15 meters for about 15 minutes, no signals heard on the
band. I also tried 30m but nothing heard there either.

The chipmunks were causing a lot of QRM in and around me while I was on the
air. But it was another Great Day out on the Appalachian trail in PA. The wx
was sunny and with the temp around 75' F. There was a nice breeze and in the
forest . . . .well it was just Great. Wish I could have made a few more
QSO's but I guess you can't have everything. On my hike back to my car I
came upon a 2 1/2 foot long and fat Eastern Garter Snake sunning himself on
some rocks on the trail.

72 and Thanks,
Ron Polityka
