[Elecraft] flagrantly OT: name of WWII comedian who "...could teachMorse code to a dog...."?

Wayne,

I haven't seen any responses to your question so I guess you have us all 
stumped.  I'm guessing that it was not a 40's era comedian but, more likely, 
a 50's era comedian when (as I recall) that kind of schtik started with Bob 
Newhart.  I remember listening to an LP at a friends house in the mid 50's 
that featured Bob Newhart.  It did not have a radio instructor on it but 
otherwise was very similar.
