Martin,
I would not recommend that you take the 8 volts out of the K2.
As an alternative, develop the required DC voltage at the transverter
end, and then ground it during transmit with the K2 amp keying circuit.
OR - key a relay at the K2 end with the amp keying circuit, then use the
relay contacts to apply voltage (from a separate supply) to the
transverter. The 8 volts inside the K2 should not be loaded down with
external devices. If the current requirement is very low, it may be OK,
but in this case, we do not know the current requirement, so a relay is
my recommended solution.
