I would like to practice sending wo transmitting with my KX-1.  Is there a way to put it into a practice mode w/o using a dummy load?   KC9JJU


Paul, the easiest way is to just press and hold the BAND switch (the middle one) - the number you see displayed is the speed of the built-in keyer. You set the speed by rotating the knob. While the speed number is displayed, you can practice keying to your heart's content - the rig will not be transmitting.
