Chris,

You are correct, there is nothing unique to 30 meters and 17 meters.  Are
you certain your antenna is still OK?

If you have the KAT100, that could have some problem with the inductance and
capitance selected during tuning that is giving the appearance of a weak
received signal.

We really need more data to give a better answer.
