Hi Stephen,
I think you'll do just fine. The K2 is an excellent transceiver and
the build is straight forward and most enjoyable. Just follow the
manual and you'll be fine.
No test equipment is required to build the K2 other than a dmm and a
dummy load. You do need to take esd precautions but that's it. No
oscilloscope required. Alignment is straight forward - simply follow
the manual.
