Don and Tom, as always, responded in mere minutes to
my question ... even after all these years here seeing
such level of assistance, I'm still humbled by the
helpfulness and gereosity of guys like these.  Makes
me proud to be a ham.  My thanks.

Anyway:  what I was getting at was not so much "what"
was happening, but "why" and I probably should have
been more clear with my question.   

Here's the line of reasoning:  (a) it never did this
before and (b) I get full range of the same VCO on
other bands.

Does the VCO have to "travel" further when on 160?

I will fix this a little later this morning, and
report back what I find.
