[Elecraft] #5956 construction questions

Gentlemen (and any ladies, of course),

As you can see, I'm beginning construction on #5956 and was wondering a 
few things. First off I will point out that I purchased the KBT2, KSB2, 
KIO2 and K160RX options on top of the basic CW K2. My first question 
deals with the KBT2; is it safe to use the KBT2 as the power source 
during the initial testing by installing the included connector on the 
RF Board or should I make up a temporary power cable using the included 
plug? Secondly, is it ok to install the connectors for the options I 
have so I don't have to take the case apart once I get it together for 
the initial alignment tests; it's not that I have an aversion to taking 
the radio back apart (wouldn't have bought the kit if I didn't like to 
tinker with electronics), it's just that I want to be able to get on the 
air with it as soon as I can after it's finished (hopefully that's done 
by the 23rd). My final question is related to the trimming of P5 on the 
control board for clearance when the KIO2 is installed; can I do that 
before I install it?
