[Elecraft] K2 #5944 running

K2 #5944 is up & running. For me, the challenge is to see if I can build one 
of these things without making any mistakes. Succeeded with the Norcal 
40A, and also with the K1. But with the K2, I met my match. The preamp 
wasn't working, and sure enough, after checking the Elecraft e-mail list for 
hints, discovered that I had reversed leads 1 & 2 on T6.  Cut out the toroid, 
cleared the holes, rewound the turns, reinstalled, and problem solved. I tried 
the AF1 to see how much difference it makes, compared with the crystal 
filters. It is somewhat better, though not dramatically. Nice radio, lots of fun 
building and operating.
