Anyone who knows how to operate a radio doesn't shout at the mic, no matter
what! 

Maybe a little consultation on technique before the next contest would
improve his score and your sanity. 

Maybe a huge sign on the wall: GOOD OPERATORS DON'T SHOUT! 

Just the same, it's hard to have several people talking in the same room
while trying to hear marginal audio.  That does require the most isolating
'phones you can get.
