[Elecraft] K3 tuner: how does it actually function?

1.  Does the tuner "sense" when there is a mismatch and automatically kick in?

2.  Can one establish more than one "tuned" position per band (say
1810, 1830, 1860, 1900) which is somehow memorized and when you get
close to that QRG, the tuner automatically adjusts?

3.  If yes, how many slots per band?  Or...how many total tuner
position memories?

I've checked the FAQ, but do not see this addressed (but I could have
missed it).
