Ah....what about warranty issues?

Also, if the person with the original order paid via one of the credit cards 
that doubles the warranty, will that be lost?

If I were to sell off my K3, which hasn't shown up yet, I would:

A. Ask Elecraft if I sold it to person x, either before or after shipment, would
    they honor the warranty.
B. If they say yes, I would then ask the credit card company if the extended
    warranty could be transfered.
C. If the credit card company says yes...then I would market it as a brand new
    K3, factory assembled, with two-year warranty.

But no one knows if Elecraft would honor the sale of a position.
