Hi Dave,
The subreceiver can get its signal from either the main RF path (shared
with the main receiver), or via its aux RF input jack (on the
subreceiver PCB).
Normally, the unused antenna jack on the KAT3 is routed to this input.
But if you don't have the antenna tuner, you can still route the
subreceiver's aux RF input to a BNC connector on the rear panel called
"AUX".
A few operators have told us that they might prefer to use this method
for obtaining an RX-only input port, rather than install the ATU. We
may at some point supply a special cable for this purpose. You could
also install any ordinary panel-mount BNC connector, if you have one,
and attach the sub's supplied aux RF cable to it.
If you don't need dual receive -- just an RX-only input to use with the
main receiver when in receive mode -- the KXV3 would provide it.
