Leigh,
The N0SS amp keying circuit for the QRP K2 requires only the 8R, +6
volts and ground.
Yes, you could contain the entire amp keying board within the top cover
and use one of the BNC sized transverter holes for the output connector
(or drill a new hole). The 8R signal is available at the Control Board
P4 pin 9, and +12 volts is available at P4 pin 8 (you would have to run
it through a 6 volt regulator).
If you have the KIO2 installed, 8R is available on that board at J2 pin
9, but the KIO2 has only a 5 volt regulator - whether the Amp Keying
circuit will work with 5 volts instead of 6 is something to be discovered.
So there are several possibilities that you can pursue to keep the Amp
Keying circuit confined to the top cover - the key is that all signals
are available at Control Board P4 - for the mounting techniques and the
'rest of the story', let your creative juices flow.
