I've been away for a few days and just read
all of Wayne's and Lyle's comments. WOW! You
guys have really listened, and I believe the market
will richly reward you for that. I have always loved
my K2's ergonomics and performance and it sounds
like you are on track for an encore with the K3.
Of all the comments I've read, and reserving
my final judgement for actual specs like close-spaced
IMD and phase noise, the following is the only issue
which concerns me so far:
N6KR:
>Pitch range is 300 to 1000 Hz. The crystal and DSP filter passbands
automatically center on your selected pitch.
Please consider a 200 Hz lower limit.
I have a competitor's rig and they were able to
accommodate lowering their initial 300 Hz limit to
200 Hz in a firmware release. I sometimes set pitch
down to 240-270 Hz for extremely weak signals buried
in white noise on the low bands. This was one reason I
kept a TS-930S as my primary rig for many years.
I've been patiently waiting for better firmware
for my present high-end rig for several years but the
K3 may have just superceded it. Well done guys!
