If you add the optional 6 kHz filter, you can set the DSP IF bandwidth 
to 6 kHz.  The audio bandwidth will go up beyond 5 kHz.

You can tailor the Tx SSB audio response with the built-in 8-band equalizer.

There is also an very flexible Tx Mic AGC ("ALC") that you can use to 
keep the gain up without getting compression (fast attack, slow decay). 
  An IF clipper ensures you never overdrive the succeeding stages into 
non-linearity.  DXers call this "talk power" while ESSB guys call it 
distortion. I guess it depends on your goals :-)

Note that the K3 offers "data" modes for USB and LSB.  In these modes, 
audio shaping is removed (no denoisers or notch filters are enabled, 
either) so the audio response is flat for use with data.

I should also point out that innovative DSP filter design means that 
there is no additional signal delay added when you employ the equalizers 
(in Tx or Rx), when you widen or narrow the filters, or when you use 
manual notch (in SSB) or "context filtering" (explained in an earlier 
email) in CW.
