Dave,

If you are considering 'rolling your own', take a look at Tom Hammond's 
website (particularly > 
http://www.n0ss.net/tda2003v_5w-7w_af_amp_v7.pdf)for an audio amplifier. 
  I use one of these with my K2 and drive a 9 ohm speaker and have good 
results with it.  I don't know about using the KAF2 directly at the amp 
input, you may have some impedance matching to contend with, but it 
should be 'do-able'.

Fair to Good quality computer speakers work well too.  Some of the 
really cheap ones I have tried have too much hum for my tastes, but 
other are fine.
